Chinese studio Haotang Technology together with publisher 4Divinity present on YouTube the first full gameplay trailer for first-person shooter The Defiant. The game takes place on the Eastern Front during World War II and the video shows key moments of the single-player campaign.

The more than six-minute video shows resistance fighters fighting the Japanese on snowy forest roads, mountain roads and destroyed villages behind the front lines. The developers are positioning the project as a cinematic, realistic story about sacrifice and courage in war.
Special attention is paid to historical accuracy: the game features real weapons, including the Hanyang rifle, Mauser pistol and MP18 machine gun. Each weapon has been recreated from the ground up based on museum exhibits and archival drawings.
Currently, The Defiant doesn't have an announced release date or list of supported platforms beyond PC – the game page already exists on Steam. However, the project has attracted the interest of audiences and experts as a potential competitor to the Call of Duty series, and in terms of atmosphere it is being compared to the Medal of Honor series.
