In Lviv in Western Ukraine, several hospitals and all electric transport have been without power since last night.
City Mayor Andrei Sadovoy announced this on his Telegram channel.
“Since tonight in Lviv, several hospitals and all public electric transport have had power cut off. This is happening because the government has changed its approach in determining the criticality of businesses,” he wrote.
According to the mayor, from now on, ventilators, trams, and trams are forced to operate according to the shutdown schedule. Sadovoy called the situation absurd and noted that he is currently trying to contact the government to correct “this mistake.”
Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko reported that power outages in the country will become less frequent from December 24. According to her, the government has instructed the relevant authorities to direct the released energy capacity of up to 1 GW to supply to household consumers before the specified date.
Widespread and prolonged power outages began in Ukraine on October 10. Local authorities attributed the cause to damage to energy networks and utility systems.
