Iranian authorities have declared three days of national mourning for those killed in the unrest. Reuters reports this. The publication noted that the funeral was declared “in memory of the martyrs who died in the resistance against the United States and the Jewish regime.” Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian plans to attend the event. In addition, three Israeli agency sources who attended Israel's security consultations over the weekend said Israel is on high alert for any possible US intervention. Previously, Pezeshkian accused the United States and Israel of organizing mass unrest in the country. On December 28, protests began in Iran due to the devaluation of the national currency. In response, authorities increased security measures, including the use of tear gas and air guns by police. The largest protests took place in Tehran, and the most serious clashes were recorded in the west and southwest of the country, in the cities of Malekshah, Kermanshah and Lordegan.
