Developers from the Sandall Interactive studio talked about receiving the award – the Order of Arts and Letters. The group was awarded by the French Ministry of Culture in early February for their work on their debut project.
The Ministry noted the incredible achievements of the developers – “Expedition 33” not only received very high reviews from the press and players, but also received the largest number of awards for the best game of 2025. In the appeal, the authors expressed hope that their project will be an example for other developers who are not afraid to take risks and release something of their own.
Yesterday, we were hosted by the French Ministry of Culture to celebrate our game – Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Sandfall Interactive employees were awarded the Order of Arts and Letters. This is a great honor for us. We are grateful to our team who created this world and to the millions of gamers who breathed life into it. We hope that our journey will inspire everyone who wants to take a risk and create something of their own.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is released on April 24, 2025 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series. On the aggregator Metacritic, the average score from critics is 92 points, from users – 9.6 points out of 10. The game tells the story of a group of people who embark on a dangerous journey to defeat the Artist. She displays a number on the monolith and if a person's age matches this number then that person will die.
