Micron will join Samsung and Hynix as GDDR7 memory supplier for NVIDIA video card of Sera RTX 50XX.
According to Benchlife, Micron will provide the chip for 28 and 32 Gbit/s, expanding the NVIDIA choice for future models. Micron returned in 2024 that started the shipment of GDDR7 test samples.
At the same time, the 28 GB/S chips are already available and 32 GB/S remain in the online introduction stage and require coordination with partners. What graphics cards will receive Micron memory – it's not specified, but maybe we are talking about Super RTX 50XX and RTX 50xx options.
Currently, Samsung is still the main supplier thanks to the best time and stable performance. Hynix is used mainly in medium models. Micron memory is worse in time, which can affect the choice of board manufacturers.
