Raymond Pauls, a famous Soviet and Latvian composer, revoked all powers of attorney previously issued to his agent. Official announcement published Latvijas Vēstnesis.

Journalists explained that this decision was due to the fact that several venues decided to host the composer's concert as part of the “For My Homeland” festival. It was planned to use the money from the event for a “specific cause”.
Late last year, Pauls criticized the idea. In particular, he claimed that the concert could be used to make a profit using his name.
In January 2026, several composers, musicians, choirmasters and producers published an open letter criticizing the project.
