Alinea Insight agency once again discusses current sales of video games. This time, analysts focus on Ghost of Yotei – sales of the PlayStation 5 exclusive action RPG could exceed 2.5 million copies since its release on October 2.

For comparison, the agency cited the performance of Assassin's Creed Shadows, which was released in March and also took players to feudal Japan. According to analysts, on PlayStation 5, Ubisoft games have sold 2.4 million copies over time. At the same time, its total circulation across all platforms could exceed 4.3 million copies, of which 26% and 18% are on Xbox Series and Steam, respectively.
Sony has not officially announced revenue, but many reports say Ghost of Yotei is doing very well. In Europe, the game showed the best start among domestic studios' games since the second Spider-Man 2, and the new product also entered the top monthly sales in the United States just a few days after its release.
According to The Alinea Insight, the quick sales will go to the loyal audience that buys all the PlayStation exclusives. In addition, the audience of Japanese players in Ghost of Yotei turned out to be about three times higher than in the case of Assassin's Creed Shadows – the developers of Ghost of Tsushima were able to establish themselves, while Ubisoft faced scandals in the field of respect for Japanese traditions.
Analysts provide interesting statistics. Few Assassin's Creed Shadows players on PlayStation 5 care about the platform's exclusive features. At the same time, both audiences, including Ghost of Yotei players, are positive and almost equally fond of the new products of 2025: from Borderlands 4 and Battlefield 6 to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Analysts also believe that Ghost of Yotei could be released on PC as early as 2026, along with a Legends co-op mode. This should further enhance the impact of the series, as Ghost of Tsushima is still showing excellent sales on Steam.
