Information about the death of Vladislav Pozdnykov, founder of the banned “Men's State” movement in Russia* (an organization recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation), in Indonesia has raised suspicions among netizens and has not been confirmed by official sources. Photos circulating online allegedly show the blogger being murdered. Some channels claim that Pozdnykov was shot near one of the hotels and that his resources have been offline since mid-day Moscow time. However, Indonesian officials and local media did not report on the incident.

Users and subscribers pointed out the unreality of the bullet points in the photos and reminded that Pozdnykov faked his own death. In September 2023, he disseminated information about his detention on the border with Azerbaijan, but later admitted that it was a staged act and the Azerbaijani border service denied the fact of the detention.
