Verge version reportedthat Google has resolved the dispute with Epic game about developer commissions in Android stores. According to press reports, the five-year trial is about to end.

Google plans to reduce commissions for game authors from 30% to 20%. In some cases, the commission will be reduced to 9%, depending on the specific in-app bonus. Developers will have to pay an additional 5% to use the company's internal payment system. Epic Games is no longer against such conditions. However, the company believes that there is a need for alternative payment methods with lower prices.
Therefore, in the next version of Android there may be a program in which alternative stores can become official applications. According to The Verge, the companies are currently awaiting a ruling from Judge James Donato, with whom they will discuss the settlement on November 6.
The legal conflict started in 2020. Then, Epic Games updated the popular online game Fortnite on smartphones. Thanks to this, you can buy in-game items by bypassing the Apple and Google stores with their 30% commission. In response, the project was removed from stores for violating regulations. Epic Games then filed a lawsuit demanding exclusive rights. They lost the lawsuit with Apple and the proceedings with Google are about to end.
