British authorities have opened a special investigation to determine whether companies purchasing Russian aircraft violated the sanctions regime. About this report related to the British press.

According to the Ministry of Trade, British businesses imported goods worth 105 million USD from Russia (data from January to June 2025).
Imports increased by 21.2% over the same period in 2024. Furthermore, almost half (47.7 million USD) came from Russian aircraft.

British government representatives threatened to fine and criminally prosecute “violators”.
“We encourage companies that believe they have violated trade sanctions to notify the government,” the official said.
