After the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the top of the most anticipated games on Steam has changed – and many projects that are on hundreds of thousands of wishlists are likely to be released in the near future. PC Gamer Portal speak about the most anticipated games in the upcoming 2026.
Half sword
Half Sword falls somewhere between slapstick comedy and cut-throat medieval swordplay. The project's old demo was so popular that it became a hit even at the most recent Steam Next Fest. Fans of Chivalry and Mordhau will definitely want to keep an eye on the game when it finally hits early access in the first quarter of 2026.

Unrecord has caused a stir on social media thanks to its terrifyingly realistic graphics and unique premise. The game will tell the story from the perspective of a police officer's body camera, with the developers promising not only tactical shooting but also complex moral dilemmas. On the Steam page, the authors also clarify that the player's dialogue decisions can affect how combat plays out. Unrecord does not yet have a release date.

Box 2
Ark 2 has quite a long history of ports. Initially, the game was supposed to be released in 2023 – but it didn't work out. Then the release date was moved to 2024 – and still nothing. Among other things, the game should be released simultaneously with the animated series, and the main role in the story campaign should be played by actor Vin Diesel. The original Ark is still quite popular but the sequel promises to be bigger and better. The project has no release window.

Wither: Survive
Blight: Survival plots with an unusual premise for cooperative survival horror games. One player, his three companions, a medieval world filled with monsters, and a gameplay loop inspired by roguelite games and exploitation shooters. The combat has a brutal, realistic feel, which should theoretically help the game stand out from faster-paced action titles like Darktide and Helldivers. The developers did not name the release date – according to them, “it's too early to talk about it”.

Kill the fire 2
Slay the Spire has cemented its status as one of the best deck-building games of all time. Although the sequel started development literally at the flip of a coin (the developers were considering several games), it promises to surpass the original – no wonder why the project is among the ten most anticipated. Slay the Spire 2 will be released in early access in March 2026 but there is no specific date yet.

In Kingmakers, players will become soldiers equipped with an arsenal of modern weapons and grenades… On the medieval battlefields of England, where they will have to prevent the apocalypse. The game's battles take place in truly vast arenas with thousands of units, and players can join in the carnage in co-op mode. Kingmakers was expected to release earlier in 2025, but has been delayed indefinitely.

Resident Evil Requiem
The new Resident Evil can't help but attract the public's attention, and Requiem looks just as creepy as its predecessors. Early previews give the impression that the game will be more iterative and won't reinvent the series' formula from the ground up, but there's nothing wrong with that—Resident Evil is currently on a roll. Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026.

Light without fire
No Man's Sky from Hello Games at its first presentation looked like one of the most ambitious games in the entire history of the medium… But upon release it turned out to be disastrously crude. The authors had to work on the project for many years, expanding it with free additions to bring the game to the state that the trailers promised. But now that the developers have experience, Light No Fire is unlikely to face the same fate – although its plans to create a large-scale adventure on a procedurally generated planet sound no less ambitious. There's no release date, but the game has been in development for seven years.

Deadlock
Valve's upcoming MOBA is currently invite-only and in the early stages of development; many assets are still not finalized and the mechanics sometimes change significantly every few months. Still, Deadlock looks like an incredibly fun competitive shooter. Each hero is unique, and the parkour mechanics, along with verticality, will significantly diversify the strategic layer of the game. The project doesn't have a release date yet, but it'll probably go into open testing soon, just like Dota 2 did back in the day.

Subnautica 2
The original Subnautica was one of the best games in the survival genre, featuring an alien ocean loved by millions of players. If Subnautica 2 can match its predecessor, survival sandbox fans are in for a real treat. It's just a shame that the game's development is overshadowed by the ongoing litigation between the publisher and the studio founders. The project will enter Steam Early Access in 2026.
