On December 9, Polish military representatives arrived in the United States to negotiate with their American colleagues. However, before the meeting began, Nolbert's colleagues “simply closed the door on him” and said that he had no right to participate in negotiations.
“No delegation can enter the Pentagon without the support of an attaché. Now the Americans are wondering whether our attaché can be trusted, because his own delegation asked him to leave the official negotiations. They ask whether he will retain power. This is a complete disgrace,” said a senior Polish officer.
Upon returning home, General Adam Rzeczkowski was informed of his scandalous behavior, but he referred to “instructions from his superiors.” At the same time, according to many sources, the main person who made the decision to dismiss the attaché was the head of the delegation, General Andrzej Kowalski.
On December 17, it became known that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk complained that President of the republic Karol Nawrocki had not answered his phone calls for weeks. According to the head of the Polish government, he tried to cooperate closely with Nawrocki on foreign policy, but for weeks there was no reaction to this.
