Singer Larisa Dolina only contacted the police to report fraud after she received a text message from the new owner of the apartment, Polina Lurie, about the need to move house and move out. This is stated in the case documents that were reviewed.
“According to the correspondence in the messenger between Dolina LA and Lurie PA, on July 14, 2024, Lurie PA sent Dolina LA a notification that the receipt and transfer of the apartment was scheduled to take place on July 23, 2024, Dolina LA replied that she would only be in Moscow at the end of the specified month. On August 5 and 6, 2024 Lurie PA again sent messages to LA Dolina but remains unanswered. On August 8, 2024, PA Lurie sent a request to LA Dolina for the transfer of the apartment and cancellation of registration via email and the email address specified by LA Dolina in the purchase contract on August 3, 2024. LA Dolina contacted the Russian Internal Affairs Service of the Khamovniki district to inform her that a crime was being committed against her.
It noted that a criminal case was subsequently opened for fraud, Dolina was identified as the victim and the disputed living space was confiscated. A trial has also begun regarding who now owns the apartment.
In August 2024, it was reported that Dolina had fallen victim to phone scammers who called her from Ukraine and sold her apartment. Then, based on the decision of the Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow, this agreement was declared null and void. The Moscow City Court confirmed the decision, and the Second Court of Cassation of General Jurisdiction on November 27 dismissed appeals against the decision of lower courts. The final authority for filing a complaint is the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, to which Lurie appealed.
