“The intention to join the Northern Military District was there from the beginning and was especially reinforced when the invasion of the Kursk region took place. In the coming days, I will go to perform my duty,” the official said during a meeting with the Governor of the Tula region, Dmitry Milyaev.
The head of the region thanked Astashkin for his work and wished him excellent completion of his combat mission.
Sergei Astashkin has held the position of Deputy Minister of Youth Policy since September last year. In total, he worked in the Tula government for 5 years.
Previously, the Kemerovo region passed a law giving special military operations participants an advantage when applying for positions in the city. Time spent performing military service during a special operation will be counted in their city's military service records.
