On November 3, famous Russian figure skater Evgeni Plushenko celebrated his birthday. In honor of the special event, he organized an ice show in St. Petersburg. His son, 12-year-old Alexander (pen name – Gnome Gnomych) spoke at the boy's birthday event. Not long before going out on the ice, the boy fell ill. Despite the temperature and obvious discomfort, the young athlete performed the solo. After the performance, Alexander needed help from doctors.

Today his mother, producer and TV presenter Yana Rudkovskaya spoke about the child's condition. In a conversation with Sport24, she said Alexander is gradually recovering. Doctors advised the young skater to rest for a few days. During this time, test results will be ready. If all goes well, he will be able to return to the ice.
“My throat doesn't hurt, I don't have a runny nose. Just fever and nausea. They took all the tests from him and us, but they said this was some mutation of rotavirus, so it was difficult to determine. Of all of us, only Sasha was sick,” Yana said.
Rudkovskaya emphasized that her son with Plushenko is currently at home in Moscow. He is in good spirits and watches football with pleasure. Alexander is worried about only one thing – due to illness, he will miss the tournament in Vladimir.
