The classic video game DOOM is coming to an unusual platform – this time a home appliance. An enthusiast has launched the game on the Krups Cook4Me all-in-one, iXBT reports.

Cook4Me's technical characteristics turned out to be enough to launch the cult shooter. The device is equipped with a relatively large touch screen, 128 MB of internal memory and RAM, an ESP32 Wi-Fi module and a Renesas R7S721031VZ processor.
The main processor is accessed through the SWD interface. Having connected the programmer to the service contacts, the enthusiast copied the contents of the onboard memory and based on it assembled a modified firmware that allowed him to launch DOOM.
From a practical point of view, the gameplay is still more of a demonstration: due to the non-standard arrangement of the touch controls, playing with a pressure cooker is very inconvenient. Also, to use the multitool for its intended purpose, you need to complete a level.
Enthusiasts often run DOOM on atypical devices and applications. For example, in Microsoft Excel, the Google search engine, on computers and even pregnancy tests, this has made the game a kind of “standard” for testing the capabilities of the software environment.
