In China, a CCTV state -related publication has appeared on WeChat social networks, in which NVIDIA H20 chips are called outdated, unsafe and incomplete. The authors urged Chinese companies to give up their use to support domestic decisions.

The H20 has been released as a simple version of H200 to break US limitations for providing high -performance graphic processors for China. Its performance is much lower, but the demand for chips is very high, helping NVIDIA achieve record revenue, although temporary export restrictions by 2025.
In China, there are concerns that H20 chips may contain the hidden functions of supervision or seal. This is due to initiatives in the United States, discussing measures to implement geographical navigation in strong GPUs. The Chinese government summoned NVIDIA representatives to explain the hidden security threats, but the company said that their products did not contain Bacdors and spy functions.
