Development of Cyberpunk 2 (Project Orion) could last until at least 2030. This is due to CD Projekt Red's decision to fully integrate multiplayer into the game.

This is stated in a report by Polish investment bank Noble Securities. According to him, there are currently about 135 people working on the project, but in the next two years the team will almost double.
The expansion is specifically related to the online component: the developers admitted that adding more players required increasing production time compared to the original plan.
The document mentions a release target of Q4 2030 – symbolically, this coincides with Cyberpunk 2077's 10th anniversary. Previously, the studio itself hinted that a sequel wouldn't be expected until 2030–2031.
The good news for single-player fans is that CD Projekt Red won't sacrifice the story. Cyberpunk 2 is still intended to be an RPG with a large story, with multiplayer considered an optional but strategically important element.
