The start of sales of NVIDIA RTX 50XX and AMD Radeon RX 90XX video cards became the worst in the past 20 years. Journalists and specialized observers came to this conclusion when compiling the results for 2025.

The main problem turned out to be not the GPUs themselves but the complete chaos surrounding pricing, supply and positioning.
Therefore, AMD's launch of RDNA 4 was accompanied by a lack of reference cards and confusion about the proposed price. Similar models “changed” the price from 599 USD to 800–900 USD within a day, and the actual retail price always exceeded the published price.
NVIDIA's situation is no better: shortages, driver problems, concerns about power cables and massive price gouging from partners and retailers.
