Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus game subscription services in 2025 added a total of 435 new titles. As reported by Tech4Gamers, the total cost of additional content exceeded 14 thousand USD.
The Xbox Game Pass catalog expanded by 295 games during the year, which totaled about $8,700. Among the key new products arriving on the service on release day were The Game Awards' Game of the Year winner Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as well as Black Ops 7, Doom: The Dark Ages and The Outer Worlds 2. At the same time, in October, interest in canceling subscriptions increased due to price increases.
PlayStation Plus offers users 163 games, divided into Basic, Extra and Premium levels. Their total cost is estimated to be $5,575. The basic subscription includes projects like Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Lies of P and Alan Wake 2, and the expanded catalog includes God of War: Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk 2077. However, the service rarely adds new items at the same time as they are released.
The average price of a game in both subscriptions is around $34. Despite having fewer titles, PlayStation Plus is still more affordable, especially at the Premium tier, which is almost half the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
