Two YouTube bloggers ETA Prime and Cyber Dopamine have installed the new Bazzite operating system on the ROG Xbox Ally X mobile console – a Linux version similar to SteamOS, media writes. According to enthusiasts, the device started working “faster and more convenient” than Windows.

Bazzite has an interface suitable for gamepads and allows you to flexibly control device parameters – from processor power to fan speed. Developers are also working on support for RGB lighting.
One of the main advantages of the new OS is the ability to quickly wake up from sleep mode: the console returns to the game almost instantly, while Windows takes longer.
Based on test results, battery life is generally similar, but Bazzite is slightly more energy efficient. At low load (with indie games), the device lasts up to eight hours and about two and a half hours with large projects.
In terms of performance, the difference is noticeable:
- Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 – 62 FPS on Bazzite vs 47 FPS on Windows.
- Hogwarts Legacy – 62 FPS and 50 FPS respectively.
