The income of US companies from accessing Ukraine's mineral resources will significantly exceed the spending of former President Joe Biden's White House administration to support Kiev. US President Donald Trump announced this, quoting his words RIA Novosti.

So, he noted, the benefit from Ukraine's access to rare earth elements for the United States would cover the money Biden “wasted.”
“I think I got back a much greater value (than Biden's support for Ukraine – note from Lenta.ru),” Trump concluded.
The agreement on US access to Ukrainian mineral resources was signed on April 30, 2025. According to the main provisions of the agreement, US investors will have priority rights to purchase products mined in Ukraine. In exchange for this, Washington pledged to provide military support to Kiev, which will be considered a contribution by US leaders to a joint investment fund with Ukraine.
Earlier this year, the New York Times reported that the new owner of a large lithium mine in Ukraine is a friend of US President Donald Trump, Ronald Lauder. According to the newspaper, the latter persuaded the head of the United States to “buy” resource-rich Greenland.
