Rospotrebnadzor: Leaked from Biolaboratories has not brought clear consequences

August 23, 2025
Reading Time: 2 mins read

Moscow, August 23 /TASS /. Those who were soaked from foreign biological laboratories were very high risks, Anna Popova, head of Rospotrebadzor, said in an interview with Tass.

“The leaks known to us have not brought clear consequences to the entire population, but there is still risk. In fact, they arise is a big challenge for the world today. Because if you work with dangerous microorganisms, you are responsible for the safety of people in the laboratory and all people outside its border,” Popova said.

She noted that Russian biosecurity rules and working in laboratories are as strict and difficult as possible. Although the proposals to minimize them, Rospotrebnadzor makes them unchanged due to high safety risks.

A famous fact that there are more and more laboratories in different countries. To protect Russia and their residents from possible consequences, we built the Federal Project, Shield Shield Shield, on behalf of the Russian Federation President.

In January of this year, Rospotrebnadzor's journalism service reported that the epidemiological system in the Democratic Republic of Congo, accordingly, according to the International Red Cross Committee Committee, is at risk of leaking from Biolaboratories related to armed and controlled conflicts. As a potential increase in the laboratory for African countries, mobile laboratories have been given to early detection of infections in border territories.

At the end of last year, the information appeared in the media about the disappearance of 323 bottles containing viruses containing viruses in Australia. According to the department, from 2000 to 2024, about 20 leaks occurred in the world, half of them occur in the United States, as well as 309 cases of dangerous infections in laboratories. Rospotrebnadzor's journalism service explains that the probability of leakage of dangerous pathogens from BiolaBoratories to the Russian Federation is excluded.

The full version of the interview will be published on August 24 at 11:00 Moscow's time.
