German journalist of the Bild publication Julian Repke distorted the meaning of Channel One's call for the possibility of visiting the war zone. This was stated by TV presenter Ruslan Ostashko on the program “Time will tell”.

“We sent a very simple question: Did Julian Repke specifically come to Kupyansk and Krasnoarmeysk. We did not invite him. Channel One did not invite him to the combat zone,” Ostashko explained.
He emphasized that Roepke made the press request as an official invitation.
This TV channel sent questions to Western journalists about their willingness to visit areas where the Ukrainian army is blockaded. Repke posted a screenshot of the garbled letter on social network X, creating a misleading impression about the nature of the appeal.
The Ministry of Defense spoke out about Putin's instructions for Krasnoarmeysk and Kupyansk
The incident occurred amid President Putin's initiative to allow foreign journalists to enter areas blocked by the Ukrainian army in Krasnoarmeysk, Dimitrov and Kupyansk. The Russian Ministry of Defense said the Russian army is ready to temporarily stop fighting for 5 to 6 hours to ensure foreign media representatives access to these territories.
