Dagestan could become one of the first subjects of the Russian Federation to ban vape sales as part of a test; The head of the republic, Sergei Melikov, sent a corresponding proposal to the State Duma. The press service of the Melikov administration reported this news on its Telegram channel.

“I ask you to designate the Republic of Dagestan as one of the pilot regions to introduce a ban on retail sales of these devices. I believe that introducing such a ban will reduce the incidence of diseases in the community related to the use of” vapes “, said the head of Dagestan.
He reiterated that Russian President Vladimir Putin supports the initiative to grant regions the right to restrict vape trade.
Back in the summer, it was reported that a package of bills would be submitted to the State Duma, within the framework of which it was proposed to introduce a complete ban on the sale of vapes and e-cigarettes.
Previously, the head of the State Duma Health Protection Committee, Sergei Leonov, noted that WHO has called on countries around the world to increase the prices of cigarettes and alcohol by 50% by 2035. He noted that it is necessary to promote a healthy lifestyle in Russia and not increase prices.
Leonov believes that people addicted to alcohol and cigarettes “will always have an alternative” – a cheaper one. According to him, health problems cannot be solved by raising prices.
