People's Artist of the RSFSR Vasily Livanov suffers from memory loss. The actor's ex-daughter-in-law Ekaterina reported this to the publication Passage.

Ekaterina discovered in a conversation with 90-year-old Livanov's son Boris that the Soviet actor periodically does not recognize people and has lost part of his memory of recent events, while memories of his youth are still clearer.
“Somehow, he didn't even recognize anyone. I think it's called amnesia. He remembered himself when he was young, but not in recent years. It turns out, he didn't remember at all that he was filming The Bronze Horseman (2019 film),” Livanova said.
According to his former daughter-in-law, the star of the Soviet movie “Sherlock Holmes” spends most of his time at home, sitting in front of the TV and not going out. Boris's son associates his parents' health with old age and a series of illnesses.
Vasily Livanov was born on July 19, 1935. During his creative career, he played in more than 40 films, including “Colleagues”, “Charming Happy Star” and “Yaroslavna, Queen of France”. His role as Sherlock Holmes in the popular 1979–1986 television series brought him worldwide fame.
