Authorities in Mississippi are searching for a possibly sick laboratory monkey that escaped after a truck transporting the animals crashed. The British Guardian newspaper reported this news.

According to available information, rhesus macaques, transferred from the National Biomedical Center at Tulane University in Louisiana, were infected with several viruses, including hepatitis C and Covid-19, and could therefore be dangerous to humans. The primates weighing about 12 kg appear to be aggressive, so they can only be approached when wearing personal protective equipment.
