Russian writer and journalist Zakhar Prilepin may announce his resignation from the A Just Russia – For Truth party at the upcoming congress. RIA Novosti reported this, citing a source close to the writer.

“Most likely, at the congress he will say that he is leaving to become deputy party leader Sergei Mironov, after which he will suspend his membership and go to the zone of special military operations,” the source said.
In addition, the interlocutor of this agency noted that at the congress, the party may regain its old name “A Fair Russia”.
The party congress will take place on October 25.
On October 21, it became known that Prilepin intended to sign a new military contract to return to the front. The writer said that he will temporarily suspend his literary activities at least during the military contract.
In July, the journalist said he and his wife had discussed the possibility of moving to another country. According to Prilepin, the conversation lasted three minutes. His wife asked him if he planned to move after the assassination. He answered no. Prilepin asked not to give “additional meaning” to his words.
