Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin invited Latvian residents threatened with deportation to move to the region. He reported this on his Telegram channel.

He said people from Latvia and other countries can move to this area within the framework of Decree No. 702 of the President of Russia.
“Our region is open to everyone who chooses a country where culture, traditions and family values are respected,” Nikitin wrote.
The governor added that the OKA agency helps displaced people with relocation, documentation, housing and adaptation.
On October 10, Office of Citizenship and Migration (OCMA) Public Relations Director Madara Puke reported that more than 800 Russians would be deported from Latvia for violating migration laws. She added that their stay in the country beyond the specified period would be considered illegal.
