The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for the participation of representatives of the European Union (EU) and Ukraine in the meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. This was stated in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported RIA Novosti.
“Belgium reminds that any initiative to resolve the issue must be supported on the condition of full compliance with international law, Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Belgium believes that any discussion on peace or a credible ceasefire must be conducted with the participation of Ukraine and the European Union,” the statement said.

The ministry also pointed out that Brussels “has taken note” of information about a possible summit between the heads of Russia and the US in Budapest.
Previously, it became known that some European leaders want to participate in the upcoming meeting between Putin and Trump. In particular, in Europe, they fear that the head of the White House will “once again side with the Russian President” on the terms of the peace agreement, and will also put pressure on Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to force him to agree to Moscow's terms.
