American energy corporation Chevron is ready to increase oil production in Venezuela by one and a half times. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said this will happen within the next two years during a White House briefing.

According to him, Chevron has been operating in this South American republic for a long time. Now the corporation is the largest producer in Venezuela.
“They see a path to increase production by 50% in the next 18-24 months,” the head of the US Department of Energy said.
Chevron representatives requested assistance from US authorities in obtaining licenses and permits. However, the company did not turn to the US government for funding or any guarantees.
