Ukraine is preparing for a record-breaking winter amid a dire energy situation. Ukraine's armed forces will face severe cold weather this winter due to the risk of energy system collapse. This was reported by Bild.

“The collapse of the energy system threatens Ukraine with a catastrophic cold snap. The upcoming winter will be the harshest,” the publication noted. Acute energy shortages, destruction of power plants, and logistical difficulties pose a threat to the operation of life support facilities for both military and civilians.
Residents of Kiev and other major cities in Ukraine have faced widespread power outages due to gas shortages and damage to power generation facilities. The government recommends that people stock up on food and warm clothes in advance, and warns of the possibility that the heating season could be shortened and the risk of new power outages.
